Admission Policy

Eligibility Criteria:

1. a) Age: Happy Hands School admits students in the age range of 3 to 6 (older children require further assessment)
2. b) Hearing Loss: Students with any degrees of hearing loss, who are identified having a hearing and speech difficulty are welcome.
3. c) Language: Students should have a willingness to learn and communicate through sign language as it is the primary mode of communication at our school.

Application Process:

1. a) Application Submission: Parents or guardians are required to submit a completed application form, along with supporting documents such as birth certificate, medical records, Aadhar card of parents.
2. b) Assessment: Depending on the age and abilities of the student, an assessment may be conducted to determine their level of language deprivation, ability to learn etc.
3. d) Decision: The admission committee will review all the information gathered during the application process and make a decision based on the availability of seats and the suitability of the student for our program. In some cases we take a decision after the child spend 2 weeks to 4 weeks at our school.

Admission Priority:

1. a) exposure to sign language at early age and ability to communicate during admission.
2. b) Proximity: Priority may be given to students residing in the local community or nearby areas, as per the discretion of the admission committee.
3. c) Special Circumstances: In exceptional cases where a student requires immediate placement due to unique circumstances or special needs, the admission committee may consider an expedited admission process.
4. d) girl children always given high priority over boys coming for admission.

Please note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission, as availability of seats may be limited or we find the child having other disability outside our expertise to deal with it. Our aim is to provide the best possible educational environment for our students, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard.
